Thieves of Ashes, 80 min, est. release 2026

Karin and Honza, thirty-something migrant workers from the Czech Republic, travel to the wilderness of British Columbia to hunt for highly-prized morel mushrooms that emerge from the ashes of recent forest fires. Facing brutal conditions, they push themselves to the limit both physically and psychologically in the hope of reaping big rewards. Against a haunting backdrop of charred landscapes, Thieves of Ashes offers an intimate glimpse into a world at the crossroads of climate change and major global economic forces.
