We’re very proud that The World in Ten Blocks has been featured in Making Peace Toronto as one of the installations in the “pop-up” gallery at 480 Front St E, which will be open daily from May 13 to June 30, 2017.

Making Peace is an international multi-year event centred on a large outdoor photographic exhibition “that pays tribute to the people who — all over the planet — devote their time, energy and resources to the cause of peace”. As part of The World in Ten Blocks installation, attendees will add their own journeys to an interactive origins map that will be filled in by visitors over the course of the exhibition. The installation includes The World in Ten Blocks Interactive on four iPads for visitors to explore at their own pace as well as a big screen presentation of The World in Ten Blocks film.

The fourth and final instalment of The World in Ten Blocks Interactive has been released! This week we conclude our journey through Bloorcourt with:

• Mohammed Jaber of The Empire
• Magda Guzmán & Enrique Moreno of Tierra Azteca

This instalment is laden with a number of historic and community hotspots, including a look at some of the movie theatres that have operated in Bloorcourt in bygone years, and a profile of Working Women Community Centre, an amazing non-profit organization founded and headquartered in Bloorcourt—scroll onward to discover them all!

The third instalment of The World in Ten Blocks Interactive has just been released in partnership with The Globe and Mail. This week we continue the journey through Bloorcourt with:

• Paula Luís of Courense Bakery
• Winston “Wire” Clarke of Wire’s Variety
• Philippa Pires of Zoinks! Music and Books

This week’s instalment includes a tour of some of Bloorcourt’s finest street art, as well as a trip back in time a century to the First World War — scroll onward to find them!

This week we continue the journey through Bloorcourt with the release of the second instalment of The World in Ten Blocks Interactive, in partnership with The Globe and Mail. It includes:

Each instalment also includes hotspots which highlight topics including different immigrant communities in Bloorcourt and the history of the neighbourhood. Be sure to look for them as you explore the project!

We’re thrilled to announce that the first instalment of The World in Ten Blocks Interactive has been released online in partnership with The Globe and Mail. It has been our dream since we began this project nearly five years ago to connect our work with audiences across Canada and beyond, and The Globe is the perfect partner to help us achieve this.

Thanks to the hundreds of DocX attendees who delved into the stories of immigrant small business owners at the The World in Ten Blocks installation at Hot Docs — the project’s World Premiere!

The World in Ten Blocks is an interactive web documentary that allows users to virtually explore one of Toronto’s most multicultural and vibrant neighbourhoods. Check out the teaser here!

Lost Time Media is pleased to announce that The World in Ten Blocks film has been licensed by Bell TV1, and is available to all Fibe TV subscribers across Canada.

In collaboration with Lost Time Media, the Toronto-based non-profit media arts organization Year Zero One has launched Queerstory just in time for World Pride in Toronto! The self directed walking tour app contains 40+ mini-docs and media artworks at over 30 Points of Interest covering a century of Toronto’s colourful LGBTQ history.
