Thank you to the hundreds of attendees from around the world who explored The World in Ten Blocks Interactive during its International Premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2017, where it was nominated for the “Doc/Fest Interactive Award”.

The project was included in the “Interactive at Millennium Gallery” portion of the Alternate Realities exhibition. As part of the industry programming, co-creator Marc Serpa Francoeur participated in a pair of panels about VR and digital storytelling. Read more here.

For one beautiful night, , Canada’s only Nicaraguan restaurant and one of Toronto’s hidden culinary gems, was transformed into a special live event, installation, and celebration of The World in Ten Blocks.

Between 7pm and 7am, hundreds of attendees were able to sample Nicaraguan street food, meet some of the documentary’s participants in person, and add their own immigration journey to a collective map that took shape over the course of the night.

Thanks to the hundreds of DocX attendees who delved into the stories of immigrant small business owners at the The World in Ten Blocks installation at Hot Docs — the project’s World Premiere!

The World in Ten Blocks is an interactive web documentary that allows users to virtually explore one of Toronto’s most multicultural and vibrant neighbourhoods. Check out the teaser here!
